Hopes are high for the Philippines to finally host the Miss World pageant after the reigning queen, Megan Young, and members of the Miss World Organization met with vice president Jejomar Binay to discuss proposals to stage the pageant in the country.
But for this to push through, the organizers need the go signal from the government.
“We need the blessing—that’s the most important thing,” said Miss World Philippines national director Cory Quirino, said in interview with PEP.ph. But until now, they are still waiting for Malacanang’s go-ahead.
Around 140 candidates from all over the world are expected to compete in the international pageant.
