Cebu City’s Eva Psychee Patalinjug and Cordilleras’ Glenifer Perido emerged as front-runners after winning the Best in Swimsuit and Best in Long Gown awards during the pre-pageant held days ago. And until the end, these two beauties proved they are the major forces to reckon with in the competition.
The Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 coronation night concluded with Patalinjug winning the Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific crown, while Perido was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas-Tourism International.
This marks the third consecutive year that a Cebuana placed in the Top 2 of the competition. Rizzini Gomez and Angeli Gomez both won the Mutya ng Pilipinas-Tourism title in 2012 and 2013 respectively. They also won the Miss Tourism International crown during their respective participating years. Perido faces a daunting task of keeping the streak going for the Philippines in the Malaysian-based international pageant.
Other winners were Patrizia Bosco of Milan, who was named Mutya ng Pilipinas-Overseas Communities, while Olongapo City’s Cristel Racel and Australia’s Kim Fyfe finished first and second runners-up. Check out the rest of the top 10 here.
