As expected and predicted, Catriona Gray bagged the Miss World Philippines 2016 title on Sunday at the Manila Hotel.
The 22-year-old Filipino-Australian model from Albay will represent the country at the prestigious Miss World pageant, to be held in December in Washington DC, USA.
Catriona also bagged Miss Manila Hotel, Miss Hannah, Best in Fashion Runway, Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown and Best in Fashion Runway.
Asked why she should win, Gray said: “To be a Miss World is to be passed a torch that burns with passion and purpose. If I am to become MIss World Philippines, I will dedicate my voice and essence to carry that torch and to set charitable causes alight, such as my personal advocacy, the Paraiso Bright Beginnings Project. And I would focus on passing on this torch to empower others because I believe together there is no darkness in this world that our light cannot overcome.”

John Raspado won Mr Gay World Philippines 2016 at the UP Theater on Sunday, October 2.
The 35-year-old entrepreneur from Baguio City won the lion’s share of special awards, including Mr Popularity, Best in Natonal Costume and Best in Talent.
He was the grand winner of the It’s Showtime’s “I am Pogay” competition in 2014. He will now represent the country in Mr Gay World 2017 competition.

Miguel Mari Guia, representing San Pablo City, on Sunday won Mister International Philippines 2016 during the finals night of Misters of Filipinas 2016.
The 27-year-old model will represent the Philippines at the Mister International 2016 pageant to be held in December in Bangkok, Thailand. Guia also bagged the Face of Misters 2016 and Mr One Canvas special awards.
Cordillera’s Christopher Dulagan, 22, was named Man of the World Philippines 2016. This proud Igorot police officer will compete in the inagural Man of the World pageant to be organized by Prime Events Production Philippines Inc (the producer of Misters of Filipinas) next year.
Charles Joseph Querol, whose photo as a gasoline attendant went viral online a few months ago, won Manhunt Philippines 2016. This 29-year-old representative of Balagtas, Bulacan will represent the country in Manhunt International 2017.
Comeback king of Bohol AR Dela Serna is Mister Supranational Philippines 2016. This 23-year-old former Misters runner-up is set to compete in Mister Supranational 2016 pageant to be held in Poland this December.
Albay’s Issa Janda, 21, won Man of the Year Philippines 2016. He will vie for a back-to-back victory in Man of the Year, won by Karan Singhdole last August. Janda also won Best in Formal Wear and Mr David’s Salon.
Basketball varsity player from Negros Occidental Vincent Issen Christopher Jarina, 20, was named Mister Asian Philippines 2016 and will compete in the upcoming Mister Asian 2016 competition this November.
Jeremiah Nicolas (Filipino Community of Melbourne) and Roshon Barman (Biliran Island) finished first and second runners-up, respectively. Barman also bagged Mr Telegenic and Mr Skin Philosophie.
The winners will undergo a series of rigorous training sessions in preparation for their respective international pageants.
The top 15
The 27 candidates opened the finals showheld at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila, opened in with a jungle inspired upbeat opening number. They then paraded in swimwear and formal wear before they were cut to 15.
The rest of the 15 finalists who moved forward to the question and answer round were Casius Charles Panopio (Batangas), Gerald John Fullante (Camarines Sur), Randy Angelo Ramos (Davao del Norte), Mark Vincent Villaflores (Dumaguete City), Ichin Daclan (General Santos City), Prince De Guzman (Fairview, Quezon City) and Bobby Royo (Sibuyan Island).

The 25 candidates of Miss World Philippines 2016 were officially presented to the press on Monday, September 5 at the Sampaguita Gardens in Quezon City.
Miss World Philippines director and CG Global Quest Inc head Cory Quirino and Miss World Philippines 2015 Hillarie Parungao were present at the event.
VIVA and CQGQ Inc recently forged a partnership to organize and produce Miss World Philippines. Quirino reassured the countless supporters of Miss World Philippines that the beauty pageant will be managed with as much dedication and passion as it was in the last five years- if not more.
Miss World Philippines will stage its traditional Gala Charity Event dubbed “Beauty in Giving” on September 20 at the Enderun Tent with Enderun as co-presentor and Tuloy Street Children Village Foundation and PGH Medical Foundation as beneficiaries.
The pageant night is scheduled for September 25 at the Manila Hotel and will be aired in GMA.
Pageant veterans, an Igorot police officer, a windsurfer and a social media sensation are among the 27 Misters of Filipinas 2016 contestants presented to the media on Sunday, August 28.
The show, which coincided with the launching of One Canvas Events Place in Makati City, saw the candidates walk the runway in fashion wear, beach wear and their official Misters shirts.
These men from around the country and Filipino overseas communities hope to follow the footsteps of Mister International 2014 Neil Perez and Man of the Year 2016 Karan Singhdole. They will compete for the chance to represent the Philippines in various international pageants, including Mister International, Manhunt International and Mister Supranational.
Prime Event Productions Philippines president Carlo Morris Galang expressed happiness for having these gorgeous and talented individuals as part of this year’s Misters candidates’ roster. “For us, they are not just competitors in our pageant, but an addition to our growing family,” he added.
The finals is set for September 18 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila.
Top favorite Andrea Biondo from the Filipino Community of South Italy won the top plum at the inaugural Gentlemen of the Philippines competition.
The 23-year-old reigning Mr Bachelor Philippines Italy was named Gentlemen of the Philippines – Mister Universal Ambassador 2016. He will represent the Philippines in Mister Universal Ambassador 2016 to be held in Indonesia later this year. Biondo also bagged the Best in Swimwear and Best in Barong award.
Camarines Sur’s 6’1″ tall hunk Job Abogado won the Gentlemen of the Philippines – Mister Model International 2016 title. He will compete in Mister Model International 2016 to be held in India. He also won Best in Fashion and Style fast track award and Best in Formal Wear.
Paul Renzo Velo, 23, from the Filipino Community of London was named Gentlemen of the Philippines – Mr Tourism International 2016 title and has won the right to represent the Philippines in Mr Tourism International 2017 competition. Velo also grabbed the Best in Talent fast track award.
Mr Congeniality and Best in Advocacy Speech winner Jason Martin from Gold Coast, Australia won Gentlemen of the Philippines – Mister Worldwide 2016 and will compete in Mister Worldwide 2016.
San Pablo City’s Kian Sumague, 21, is Gentlemen of the Philippines – Mr Tourism World 2016. He will be wearing the Philippines sash in the first edition of Mr Tourism World to be held in Bali, Indonesia later this year.
Christian Lumasag from Cebu City bagged the Gentlemen of the Philippines – Best Global Model 2016 title. He will be flying out to Portugal later this year to compete in Best Global Model of the Year 2016 contest.
The Gentlemen of the Philippines – Mister Teen International 2016 title went to 18-year-old Mark Joshua Marquez from the Filipino Community of North Italy. He will compete in Mister Teen International 2017.
Miguel Alexis Maliwat (City of San Fernando) and Rex Peter Calimbayan (Tagbilaran City) finished first and second runners-up, respectively.
The rest of the 15 finalists were Johannes Dula Rissler Jr (Germany), Mohammad Ali Imran Atendido (Lucena, Quezon), Sonu Singh (Nueva Vizcaya), Roland William De Dios (Cabanatuan City), Ray Ferdinand Garcia (Isabela) and Daniel Subagan Jr (Ilocandia).
The fast track winners got an automatic spot in the Top 20. Mr Popularity fast track award went to Mr General Santos City Julius Ceasar Chio. The Best Advocacy Video went to Gem Andrei Salvacion from Leyte, who also won Mr Photogenic.
Completing the Top 20 semifinalists were Samuel Joshua Arnonobal (Zamboanga City), John Vincent Pua (Quezon City) and Carlo Roy Roslinda (Bohol).
The finals night was held Sunday, July 31, at the Trinity University of Asia Theater in Quezon City. Reigning Mister Universal Ambassador Christian Daniel Ortiz was among the panel of judges.
Thirty men from around the country and Filipino communities abroad will battle it out for the seven titles at stake at the inaugural edition of Gentlemen of the Philippines 2016 will take place tonight, at the Trinity University of Asia theater in Quezon City.

The candidates of Gentlemen of the Philippines 2016 were presented to the media on Saturday, July 23, at The Sulo Riviera Hotel in Quezon City.
Andrea Biono from South Italy emerged as an early favorite after he was voted as the Darling of the Press. He was also awarded Mr New Placenta.
Kian Sumague of San Pablo City and Mohammad Ali Imran Atendido of Lucena, Quezon were the Darling of the Press runners-up. Jason Martin of Gold Coast, Australia was named Mr Hea Watch.
The Gentlemen Charities Inc organizers traveled around the country all the way to the Filipino communities of Italy, UK, Germany and Australia to gather the most advocacy- and career-driven men who will comprise the inaugural set of contestants for the Gentlemen of the Philippines 2016 competition.
These 30 men will compete for six titles at stake in the pageant and for the right to wear the “Philippines” sash in Mister Model International, Mister Universal Ambassador, Mister Tourism International, Mister Worldwide, Mister Tourism World and Mister Teen International.
Mr Tourism International Philippines 2015-16 Willan Pagayon hosted the event. Mr Model International Philippines 2015 Arcel Yambing, Mr Worldwide Philippines 2015 Jolo Dayrit and Honorary Gentleman Reniel Villareal were also in attendance.
The finals night will take place on July 31 at the Trinity University of Asia Theater in Quezon City.

An 18 year-old looker who is in his Junior year at the City College of Angeles where he is taking up a Bachelor degree in Information System. He stands 5’10” and is an all-around sports enthusiast who plays basketball and volleyball. He is also an avid biker who has conquered road trails from Pampanga to Bulacan.

A 21 year-old Nursing graduate who plans to pursue Medicine Proper after hopefully passing the Nursing licensure exam next month. On the side, he is an enthusiast of free diving and waterfall jumping.

Andrei is 23 years old and stands 5’11”. A self-supporting student, he is currently in his final semester at ACLC College Tacloban and is on course to finishing a BSBA degree major in Human Resource Development Management before year’s end.

This 21 year-old is a 4th Year Civil Engineering student at the University of La Salette. He stands 5’10” and is a self-confessed singer and dancer. He is also what you might call a water baby. He loves swimming and would not waste the chance to take a dip (or make a splash) whenever a pool (or the beach) is nearby.

A 21 year-old Computer Engineering student from Lucena who can speak five different languages – English, Tagalog, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi. He is half-Filipino, half-Pakistani and stands 5’10”.

Aged 19 years and standing 5’11” tall, he is studying a course in Hotel & Restaurant Services at PWU-CDCEC in his home province. A Target Shooting enthusiast, Jhon is a former Governor’s Cup junior champion of the Tarlac Shooters Club. He also sings as a talent.

18 year-old Mark Joshua Marquez is 5’11” and is proud of his 100% Pinoy descent. His father hails from Nueva Ecija, while his mother is a native of Batangas. At the moment, he is in his 5th and final year of Latin and Greek Literature studies at the Liceo Classico Dante Alighieri.

This 20 year-old electronic dance and acoustic music lover from Tuguegarao City stands 6 feet tall and is studying towards a degree in Hospitality Management at St. Paul’s University. A son of OFW parents based in Kuwait where he was born and raised, JC is now a far more Cagayanon version of himself and believes that he can be a better Gentleman with the opportunity to compete in the nationals.

A 25 year old Gym Buff, stands 6 feet tall and is currently a Political Science major of Phinma Araullo University where he is part of the Debate Club and Captain of the Basketball team in his college. He is a serious gym buff who used to compete in several athletic events like marathon, shot put and javelin throw before semi-retiring from the sport.

Hailing all the way from Gold Coast, Australia, this 6 feet hunk of a boxer and piano player has his fighting spirit and musically-inclined self intact. He has a personality that proudly embraces his Filipino roots and would do anything to make that side of him bear good fruits as an outstanding Gentleman.

He is 23 years old, stands 6’1″ and a BS Tourism undergraduate who took up a Tour Guiding NC II course from TESDA. He is from Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur but is actually a full-blooded Igorot as both his parents originally hailed from Sagada in the Mountain Province. He will represent Ilocandia. Dan is the youngest of eight children.

The tallest in the batch at 6’2″, Johannes is an aspiring actor and professional model. He plays basketball as a sport and wouldn’t mind showing off his talents in dancing and singing upon request. Academics-wise, he graduated from Maryknoll High School in Panabo City and is still contemplating on what course to take in college.

Job stands 6’1″ with looks that are so (gentle)manly and appealing. He started taking up a course at the Philippine Maritime Institute prior, but had to stop in order to find work. He accepted runway and print modeling jobs in order to make ends meet. On the side, he is active in the church and continues to serve Sunday masses on a regular basis.

He is all of 23 years and currently taking an undergraduate sandwich course of Aerospace Engineering at the University of the West of England where he is an active basketball player and Captain of the 2nd team.

21 years of age and stands 6 feet tall. He is a former cadet of the Philippine Military Academy who is currently at a crossroads in his career. One thing very clear, though, is that he wants to compete for and become a true-blue Gentleman titleholder which can help launch his advocacy for climate change adaptation.

A 19 year-old Ray is a refreshingly youthful native of Aurora, Isabela who is tall at 5’11”. He may be studying Management Accounting at Centro Escolar University (Malolos Campus), but his heart fully belongs to Cagayan Valley. Ray is very much into folk and indigenous dances, inspite of admitting that he is not the best when it comes to executing graceful moves and the like.

Sam is aged 20 and recently completed his Computer Engineering degree from Commtech Institute. What’s interesting in him is that he bakes as a hobby and sells his yummy chocolate cakes and brownies for added income. He is 5’10”.

You don’t mess with a marksman like Rodolfo “Rj” Alaba from Legazpi City, Albay. But that’s just a starting pitch to show you the special skills of our 4th Year Criminology student from Bicol College in Daraga. 21 years old and standing 5’11”, he describes himself as a simple guy who excels in sports like swimming, basketball and shooting. He placed Top 3 in the Inter-Criminology held in CamSur.

A Notre Dame of Salaman College graduate with a degree in Business Administration-Financial Management. He is currently involved in the family merchandising business. Skills-wise, he is an artist who can do portraits in charcoal and other medium. This 5’10” hunk plays basketball to keep himself fit, with singing and dancing added to his list of talents.

A 22 years old and standing 5’11”, he is what you may call an entirely “Filipinized” guy. Born and raised in the country, he completed an Associate Degree in Restaurant Management and loves cooking, especially Indian food. Outside of work in the family business, he plays basketball and hanging out with friends.
