Janicel Lubina off to Egypt for Top Model of the World 2014

Janicel Lubina, the reigning Slimmers World Miss BIkini Philippines 2013, is set to leave today, March 27, for Egypt to represent the country at the Top Model of the World International Competition set for April 11 in El Gouna, Red Sea.

Lubina said she is excited to wear the Philippine sash in an international pageant. “Besides, I am turning 20 on April 1st and I will be celebrating my birthday for the first time in a foreign country,” she added.

A part-time model, Lubina was born in Narra Palawan and was first runner-up to Megan Young in Miss World Philippines 2013.

The country has won the Top Model of the World title in 2007 via Michelle de Leon. Past delegates to the international modelling tilt were: Lorena Pangan (3rd runner up, 1995), Cherry Ann Chavez (semi-finalist, 1997), Elizabeth Sison(1998(, Justine Gabionza (4th runner, 2002), Michelle de Leon (winner, 2007), Rosita Defino (Miss Congeniality, 2008), Christi Lynn McGarry (semi-finalist, 2010), Madison Elliot (2011), Christina Davis (2012) and Shermaine de Ramos (2013).
